Shri M. S. Chandra Sekhar Scholarship Program

To recognise and encourage a bright student, who may or may not be in a dire financial need, but who has the potential to be a future leader. It observes the merit, financial situation and potential leadership qualities in the applicants.

The program is active from the academic year 2013-14. The program is being instituted in the loving memory of "Late Shri M.S. Chandra Sekhar".


2nd year students

All students of 2nd year of MBBS at "Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad" are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

2-steps

Selection process consists of two stages. First, the completed application form, along with the detailed responses to the essays, has to be sent to mscssp@jtrust.org in a document. Second, an interview would be conducted for short-listed candidates. A final recipient of the scholarship would be announced based on the application and the interview.

5 questions to answer


  • E1: Tell us about the various aspects of your life for the past 18 years. Provide more details and cover as much information about you as you can.
  • E2: What are your plans and goals in short (3-5 years), long term (10-15 years) and life term (30-40 years)? Provide us more details by explaining your career path and what you want to achieve and stand for in your life.
  • E3: How are you going to execute the plans and reach the goals that you mentioned in E2? A practical and realistic answer would be appreciated.
  • E4: Where do you want to use the money that you get as part of the scholarship, once selected for it?
  • E5: List the major challenges that you have faced in your life. Provide details of a few of the major challenges and how you overcome the challenge. What did you learn from each one of those?

Rules


  • 1. The students should send the completed application form & essay responses to all the 5 questions in an MS-Word document (*.doc or *.docx format) as an attachment to the e-mail. The e-mail should be send to mscssp@jtrust.org.
  • 2. The subject of the e-mail should be "Application for MSCSSP at Osmania Medical College - "Student full name".
  • 3. There is no given word-limit for the essay answers. The work should & must be on your own. It should NOT be a fiction (or) story created for the purpose of the scholarship.
  • 4. The student is NOT selected based on the quality of the English language. This is not a test of English language skills. The program recognizes students equally who might have come from Telugu medium background.
  • 5. On the response sheet, students should also furnish their name, college, roll no., branch, contact phone no. and e-mail address.
  • 6. A personal interview would be conducted for the short-listed students.
  • 7. Fill the application form attached below and send it along with the essays document.

NOTE: The selected student should show a consistent improvement in his academic and overall performance in the 2nd year. A review will be done after 6 months. Based on the results, the last 6 payments would be made.

For shortlisted students

Usually, interview will be conducted in the college on a working day. Details will be posted here.

Scholarship details

  • A selected student will receive a scholarship amount of Rs. 1,500/- per month for a period of 12 months, in addition to the Certificate of Scholarship. The total scholarship amount is Rs. 18,000/- .
  • A girl student will be selected for the 'Promising future leader award', given a one-time scholarship amount of Rs. 1,500, and a Certificate of award.
  • A boy student will be selected for the 'Promising future leader award', given a one-time scholarship amount of Rs. 1,500, and a Certificate of award.
